Bold Women - Isabelle Impala

In the latest instalment of our ‘My Skin Story’ campaign, we sat down with Isabelle, one of the vibrant faces of Ella Baché to talk all things BOLD moves, her skin story, and the career journey that got her to where she is today.

Can you tell us a little about your skin story, background, or challenges and what has influenced your skin care routine today?

Like many, my skin story has been a journey – but over time and with a lot of trial and error I have learnt that less is really more. I have also realised the importance of skincare routine and rituals, not only do they offer self-care, but your complexion reaps the rewards.

What has given you the courage or confidence to own your skin story or love the skin you're in?

For me, this comes down to time and maturity.

What does being BOLD mean to you?

Being unapologetically yourself.

How do you maintain fresh, glowing skin with your busy day-to-day life?

I religiously practice me skincare routine, morning, and night. I also believe in looking after myself internally as much as externally so my lifestyle choices like eating well, meditating and exercise all play a big part in my complexion.

What's your best skin tip?

Never go to sleep without removing your makeup!

What is the boldest move you have ever made?

Jumping on a plane and moving to London alone at 19 to pursue my modelling career.

Could you please tell us about your career journey and where you are now?

I was scouted at 15 and I started working right away. My career has had many ups and downs and brought me to a place now where I’m excited to be doing more creative work with my personal platform and have more control over the brands I choose to work with.

Have you ever had a moment where someone has told you that there is something that can't be done?

Yes, I was told I wouldn’t be able to model and that it was a pipe dream, but backing myself and being unapologetically myself has paved the way to where I am today.

Having the guts to be bold, to step out, and to own your career journey is something we admire about our ‘Bold Women’. Did you face any setbacks when you started out?

Absolutely, when I was younger, I allowed too many other opinions to effect my decisions. I’ve learnt now that the only opinion that really matters is my own.

What bold moves do you have planned for 2023?

To step more into my creativity and put myself out there more!

Lastly, what is your best advice?

Put yourself first, believe in yourself and always trust your intuition.
