With the spring racing season upon us, you may have your dress, shoes and fascinator sorted – but have you thought about your perfect glow? Here at Ella Baché we have 5 winning tips to help you achieve that "just returned from Europe" look from top-to-toe...
1. It’s all about preparation, and exfoliation is key
It's important to take the time to thoroughly address hair removal and exfoliate skin at least 24-hours prior to application to ensure an even, streak-free tan. This process buffs away dead skin cells and eliminates any flaky patches in preparation for your tan. Avoid applying products prior to tanning to ensure lasting colour and even result. Try our Refining Exfoliating Gel (for the face) and Earth Enzyme Body Exfoliant (for the body).
2. Choose the right formulation
While many self-tanners on the market dry out the skin, and often develop into a dreaded shade of orange, our tried and tested Great Tanning range promises neither of these things. How? Our formulations are enriched with nourishing ingredients to keep skin soft and supple, and we've packed them with a combination of antioxidants to protect against free radicals that cause premature ageing. We've also ensured that they're pH balanced and stabilised to deliver a natural looking tan.
Great Tan Without Sun – A cult favourite. This moisture-rich tan provides an even, golden colour that develops in 1-2 hours. Featuring a bronze tint for easy, flawless application, and formulated with Lanolin and Shea Butter to leave skin soft and hydrated. It can also be used on the face.
Great Facetan Without Sun – Formulated with Shea Butter and Honey-Moist, this is an intensely moisturising self-tan with instant bronze illuminators for the face, allowing for flawless application and an instant radiant glow.
3. Use a tanning mitt
For optimum results and minimal product wastage, use a tanning mitt to protect hands from unwanted stains and to achieve an even finish. Plus, compared to your hand, a mitt has a much larger surface area, which speeds up the application process and makes reaching your back a lot easier. Start with small amounts and smooth over. Apply sparingly to dry areas like ankles, knees and elbows.
4. Avoid exercising immediately afterwards
Avoid excercising or any activities in which you may sweat for at least 8 hours after tanning. When you exercise, moisturise your skin just prior to working out to help lock in the colour and prevent your skin from drying out and going flaky.
5. Don't forget your SPF
It goes without saying that when you're heading outside you'll need to apply sunscreen to prevent sun damage and premature ageing. Our suncare range protects skin from UVA/B rays, is TGA approved and made in Australia with our harsh climate in mind.
