To celebrate International Women’s Day, I embrace a world where all genders and diversity is celebrated and equitable, where all girls and women have an equal voice, and no bias or discrimination exists.

Today is a day that holds great significance for many, as it is a celebration of how far we have come, whilst recognising we still have a way to go. In reflection of International Women’s Day, I circle back to Madame Ella Baché, a pioneer in her own right she founded this very company during one of the most disruptive times in history – WW2, no stranger to gender and racial bias Ella worked innovatively with conviction and tenacity; and it is these traits that many women around us lead with today.

I am often asked what empowerment and leadership means to me and what kind of message I want to send to women across the world -

And my response has always remained the same.

Real change has yet to occur, and we have barely scratched the surface when it comes to female empowerment. The treatment of women is still not good enough and we need to learn that to truly empower or become empowered we must lead with courage and conviction, back ourselves, and stand up for our beliefs – even if we are the only ones in the room

When it comes to living boldly, I understand that this can sometimes be easier said than done, and especially during these undefined times. But what I have learnt is; the only permanence we have for the future is change, we have lived through unprecedented times, and if we lead with our intuition, and stand by our principles this will create a better future for not only the women that stand before us, but the ones that are yet to come.

So, today I celebrate all women, the ones who fought for us to be where we are today, and the ones that continue to fight for our equality, for inclusive cultures and for structures that are designed for women to not only strive, but thrive.

I see you; I hear you, and I stand with you – together, we are the change, the change that is creating a better future for all.
