After beginning her career as a skin therapist in the Ella Baché network, Sally Hunter took the next step in her journey with the brand by becoming the owner of Ella Baché Young. Finally realising her lifelong dream of owning her own salon, Sally continues to grow personally and professionally through being a part of an established and respected franchise, and through her loyal and growing client base.
What does owning Ella Baché Young mean to you?
Being the owner of Ella Baché Young brings me so much joy every day, from my wonderful staff to my beautiful clients. I love when clients leave the salon relaxed and feeling much more at ease to be able to fulfill their day. I love how I get to share in my client’s journey of life during their highs and their lows and how they believe in me to do my best.
Why did you decide to make the move from working in the franchise to owning it?
Owning my own salon has always been a personal goal of mine. When I completed my Diploma of Beauty Therapy I really wanted to one day become a salon owner. Working in an Ella Baché salon prior to owning my salon made me determined to do this. When the opportunity came up I couldn’t let it pass by and decided to take the next step.
How does the Ella Baché brand support your business to continue grow?
Ella Baché are always reaching out to me and asking me if there is anything they can do to help. Our national campaigns are always a huge success and the training provided helps to boost our knowledge and pass on to our clients. By providing social media marketing to help drive our product sales and get the word out about our amazing existing and brand-new products has been a huge help. Vicki Kay our State Manager has been a massive support and visits us every month to help us with any problems that we are having, and to mentor us along the way.
What goals have you achieved since being a franchise?
My main goal that I have achieved is becoming a High-Performance salon with Ella Baché, being able to offer more advanced treatments in this fast-paced world has really helped me to be able to build my salon. Renovating our salon was a main goal of mine so we could become an official franchisee, we are loving the look of the new salon and are so proud to be an Ella Baché franchise.

Describe how it feels to develop a loyal customer base?
Developing a loyal customer base, is so important. Our salon has been operating for 35 years and we still have clients who have been with us from the start. It is such a nice feeling to know that they are on the journey with us, they have seen all the changes and continue to support us. Since taking over the salon, our clients have been so supportive with the change of ownership, which is so important to me.
Favourite memory of being within the Ella Baché network?
My favourite memory was the Ella Baché franchise conference. I absolutely loved my experience connecting with the other Ella Baché salons, also motivational speakers really encouraged me to go back to the salon and strive to be my best. The Ella Awards are also a fantastic social event and are a great chance to acknowledge all the hard work that the salons have put in.
Best advice for someone looking to buy a franchisee?
My best advice would be to just "go for it’’. I think the more you think about it the more it will stop you from doing it. And always ask for help if you ever need anything.
Your current go to Ella Baché product and treatment?
I absolutely love the Botanical Skin Treatment Oil. I love the way that my skin feels when I put it on. My favourite treatment is the LED facial treatment, my skin has improved so much - it is so much brighter and calmer since beginning my LED treatments.
